BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae men's lacrosse continued their winning ways on Wednesday evening with a 16-1 victory over Brevard on Tate Field.
Ryan Bird led the Bobcats with six points on the night with three goals and three assists.
Tyler Flannelly and
Logan Ryan added hat tricks in the contest for Lees-McRae.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The two sides traded early shots on goal in the first period, but Spence Combs got Lees-McRae on the board first at the 6:28 mark off an assist from Bird. Brevard knotted the game at one goal apiece with 4:46 remaining in the first.
- Valentino Cortes regained the lead for Lees-McRae at the 3:24 mark of the opening quarter and the Bobcats scored 15 unanswered goals en route to the 16-1 win.
- Cortes and Ryan tallied goals to start the second period and Flannelly notched his marker of the contest with 10:54 left before halftime. Lees-McRae recorded three more goals in the first half to lead 8-1.
- Clay Adams continued the scoring streak for the Bobcats off another assist from Bird. Combs made the score 13-1 with 13 seconds left in the third as Lees-McRae powered past Brevard, 15-1, on Tate Field.
- Adams, Combs, and Cortes all tallied two goals in tonight's contest and joined Bird, Flannelly, and Ryan with multi-goal games.
- Jones Hobgood went 12-19 from the face-off and collected eight ground balls on the evening. Flannelly and Ryan followed with seven ground balls apiece.
- Eddie Patterson made 13 saves in goal for the Bobcats and collected his second win of the season.
FOR THE TORNADOS:
- Parker Corbett scored the lone goal for Brevard and Jack Hicks made his season debut in goal for the Tornados with 12 stops.
