MARS HILL, N.C. — Lees-McRae men's lacrosse registered 10 goals in the opening quarter as the Bobcats defeated Mars Hill, 19-9, on Saturday afternoon inside Meares Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Matthias Oslund opened the scoring at the 9:56 mark of the first quarter and Carter Whissell scored 42 seconds later for the 2-0. Mars Hill got on the board with a goal at the 8:28 mark of the opening frame.
- Lees-McRae ended the first with eight consecutive goals for the 10-1 lead and held the six-goal margin into the halftime break.
- Adam Ross recorded the first goal of the second half and led the Bobcats on 3-0 scoring run for the 14-5 lead. The Bobcats collected four more goals in the fourth quarter for the 19-9 win.
- Cole Morris led the Bobcats with a hat trick and added two assists in the contest. Oslund, Zach Basisty, Cayden Onagi, Ross, and Ryan Voll all provided two goals in the victory.
- Bennett Gibbons went 13-19 from the faceoff with nine ground balls. Alex Epple earned the win in goal for Lees-McRae with seven saves and Mathew Adkins made two saves in the final quarter.
